How To Choose An Office Chair Floor Protector
Article by Matthew Holmes
When planning your office furniture, an office chair floor protector may not be one of the first points on your list. However, if you neglect to buy an office chair mat for every workstation, you’ll regret not doing so. Health and safety laws demand that work chairs need to be effortlessly movable and are on rims or castors. The constant motion can have a very detrimental effect on your floor if you do not adequately protect it.
Choosing the right Office Chair Floor Protector.
Take into account the thickness of the carpet in the office and the size of the castors or wheel s on your office chairs. The thicker the floor covering, the thicker your office floor protector needs to be. However the smaller the castors, the more the chair will sink into the pile under, so a low pile carpet with a chair with very small castors might demand the same thickness of chair mat as a chair with bigger wheel s on a thicker piled carpet. If you do not get the proper thickness, the operator won’t be able to move consolation ably on his/her chair towards and away from the desk as called for, because the rims will be digging into the flooring protector mat into the floor beneath. If you are placing a mat on a carpet, the backing will need to be different than if you are placing it on a smooth ground such as linoleum or wood. It is very important from the health and safety point of view that the mat does not move from its position.Another important health and safety consideration is that each ground chair mat is the appropriate size for the workstation where it is to be positioned and that a protective lip or bead arrangement all around the mat ensures that it does not present a trip hazard to workers or the annoyance of the mat ‘riding up’ every time the desk chair is pulled out from under the desk in arrangement for the operator to be able to sit down. When making your calculation for the size of mat called for, take into account the width between the left and appropriate hand legs of the desk, the distance between the desk and any furniture behind it and the width of the tyre base on the operator’s chair. For your employee’s sake in a regular office environment, you might also want to consider anti-static office chair carpet protector mats. These are very important if you have chosen carpeting with a large component of man-made materials as static build up can cause an unpleasant shock for employees when touching metal filing cabinets and so on. Anti static mats are also essential for any environment where any sort of electrical assembly work is carried out.Consider the amount of time the workstations are used each day. Inevitably, if your workplace is a 24/7 operation, all furnishings, including desk chair floor protectors will get more wear and tear than if your office is only workers ed from nine till five.Think about the look you want to achieve. If you have very carefully chosen ground overlays to complement wall coverings and blinds, you may not want to cover up massive parts of it with mats, no subject how good the good quality. A possibility that you could choose in this instance would be to buy distinct office chair floor protector mats. These are a good compromise between retaining the look you want and providing protection for your flooring overlaying s and comfort for your staff.
By pondering carefully about the safety needs for your office, as well as the closing look, you will be sure to make the appropriate choice when buying office chair floor protector mats.

Extremely unhealthy to sit for that long, I would try to change if possible in the med to long term.
Try one of those beaded seat covers. They are REAL comfortable and more than they look. Durable and not soft but very comfortable. and prevent hot butt.
